Tight cabinet layouts, skid mounted pump sets and equipment that moves on rails all punish a rigid cable. This four core 35mm2 cable uses a class 5 fine stranded copper conductor, so the assembly bends to six times its diameter and follows the inside of a panel without springing back or stressing terminal blocks.
The XLPE insulation provides a 90 C conductor rating and better abrasion resistance than elastomer insulation in hot panel environments, while the flexible PVC sheath stays soft enough for repeated handling and resists oil, coolant and hydraulic fluid. Fine stranding also improves high frequency behaviour, which matters when variable speed drives share the same cable tray.
Because the cable is genuinely flexible rather than merely soft, it survives the constant small movements on mobile equipment, and it can be terminated with standard compression lugs after twisting the strands, without the breakage that occurs when class 2 conductors are forced into tight bends.

Conductor stranding is checked against class 5 requirements, and finished cable is spark tested and routine voltage tested. We also run bend and torsion cycles on samples for mobile equipment projects and can share the results with your design team. Every flexible 4x35mm2 copper cable is stranded to class 5 and then spark tested, so flexibility never comes at the cost of insulation integrity.
Panel and skid orders usually need cut lengths rather than full drums, so tell us the schedule and we will cut, coil and label each length for the assembly station. The flexible 4x35mm2 copper cable is delivered in 10 m increments, with lugs and heat shrink markers if required, which removes the scrap that appears when a rigid cable is cut short on site.
Q: What is the real benefit of class 5 stranding?
A: The conductor has many thin wires, so the cable bends easily and resists fatigue. That matters in panels, on moving equipment and wherever a class 2 cable would kink.
Q: Can this flexible cable be used in cable tray?
A: Yes, though for long horizontal runs in tray we recommend cleating at regular intervals to support the weight of the 4x35mm2 copper.
Q: Does the cable suit variable speed drive output?
A: For VSD output runs we supply a screened version of the same flexible construction to control emissions.
Q: Are cut lengths available below one drum?
A: Yes, we cut from ten metres and coil or spool the length you specify.
Q: Can the flexible cable be supplied in labelled cut lengths?
A: Yes, we cut to schedule in 10 m increments, coil each length and label it with the panel reference so the class 5 flexible cable goes straight to the assembly bench.
Send your panel layout or equipment drawing, and we will match the bending radius, cut the lengths you need and quote this flexible cable with lugs on request.
